Golf Swing Analyzer
Golf swing analyzers are the latest in a growing trend of using computer technology to provide help in improving
your golf game. They are designed to give you feedback on your swing mechanics without spending time on the golf
course. Swing analyzers come in two forms: ones that are meant to use at home and the ones that are used in large
golf stores and golf ranges.
Home Golf Swing Analyzers
Home swing analyzers are the most economical, with costs ranging from a little more than $100 to ones that cost
several hundreds of dollars. They are simple to use and the basic models work by being attached to the club shaft.
As you take a swing the analyzer will measure your clubhead speed and give you a projection on the distance.
That is the most basic of models. Other analyzers will provide you with much more feedback including trajectory,
club face angle, clubhead path, etc. Generally, the higher end home models work by using computer software that
analyzes the video of your golf swing. You simply have someone record your swing and download it on your computer
like you would with pictures from your digital camera.
The software then analyzes the data and provides you with various feedback. You can even find some of these
programs that will show you what your swing looks like and what it should look like with improvements that the
program suggests. It's like having your own personal golf instructor with you 24/7.
You can find swing analyzers online and in many pro shops and large golf retail stores as well.
Professional Golf Swing Analyzers
A professional swing analyzer that you will find in many golf stores and golf centers will give you the most
detailed information on your swing that you can find. These units can easily cost upwards of $5,000 and up.
When you go to a center to have your swing analyzed you will be hitting regular golf balls from a synthetic tee
box into a net. As you hit various irons and woods, your swing is recorded.
Once you've completed the process you will be able to view the information on a monitor along with your
instructor. The data these systems give you is amazing. From alignment to follow through you will see exactly where
your problem areas are in your golf swing.
What's nice with this is that in most all cases you will get a CD/DVD of your session to take home with you and
view whenever you wish. They will also give you a printout listing all of the data on your swing. Finally, they
will point out areas that you should work on in improving your swing.
There is no doubt that a golf swing analyzer can help improve your golf scores. If you will use the information
you get to make the necessary changes you will see your scores start dropping.
Golf Swing Instruction Tip #1
Work on developing a good basic golf swing. In order to play better golf and
have more fun you need a fundamentally sound golf swing. So stick to the basics and work towards having an
easily repetitive golf swing that eventually becomes second nature to you.
Golf Swing Instruction Tip #2
Use training videos to help improve your golf game. Golf
swing videos are an excellent way to build a good solid golf swing. They allow you to watch them over and
over again until you are able to correct any swing problems in your game.
Golf Swing Instruction Tip #3
Get the right training aid. Before buying any golf swing
training aid be sure you know exactly what it is you need to improve on. For example, if you're having a
putting problem, is it with distance control? Alignment? Swing? By pinpointing the exact problem you can
then look for a training aid that specifically solves that particular problem.
